Restorations and Contact

At SJS VW Campers we carry out full or part restorations with no job being too big or too small.  We also carry out MOT welding work and part or full re-sprays.  A full restoration can cost between £3,000 and £6,000 depending on the work involved.  These older vehicles are notorious for having ‘botched’ repairs over a long period of time and our full restoration involves a full strip down, removing all parts; lights, glass, rubber seals, catches, and handles – often the full interior.  We then remove any rotting chassis and body panels, quite often the result of poor fitting in the past, before grafting in the new steel panels. 

The large task of preparing the camper for painting then begins and quite often this involves taking the whole vehicle back to bare metal.  Once all repairs are completed we then etch prime, 2 pack prime and stopper any small blemishes before masking the vehicle up for painting.  After this the vehicle goes through a process called denibing; this is where we flat the paint with 1500 grade wet or dry before polishing the paint to create an ‘as new’  finish.  We then re-build your van; reconditioning or replacing parts as necessary and wax oil inject all cavities, chassis etc; in order to ensure that you enjoy many more years from your investment.

Every job is priced individually and an agreement drawn up for signature by both you and ourselves.  We provide photographs of the various stages so that you can see the amount of work that has been involved.
